A log of our adventures

 

In september 2006 we will be leaving from Holland to explore The World in our own car, a Landrover 110.
We will first circumnavigate Africa overland. Heading south down the west coast to Cape Town and back north along the east coast. The plans at the moment are to ship the car from Kenya to Asia. In Asia we will start a new adventure. We would like to use this site to tell about our preperations for the journey. The route we want to follow is by no means certain. There are numerous reasons for following a different route. Civil war, political instability or even undriveable roads because of floods etc are reasons that we may change or route by thousands of kilometers.

During our travels we want to maintain a (photo) log of our adventures and escapades. We will update the site whenever we can while on the road. Nice for freinds and familly but hopefully usefull for those interested in doing something similar. Not to forget a source of valuable and up to date information for those travelling behind us.

Our car will be our house and home for the duration of our travels. It isn't just our house it is our only means of transport. The car has to be expedition ready, be in a good mechanical state and stay that way. We have received a great deal of practical advice and tips and tricks from fellow overlanders, mechanics and local companies. Without these our journey would have been a lot more difficult to realize
