We have new tyres and rims under the car. The rims are wider and have more offset than the old ones. The car is now more stable and can handle difficult terrain with more ease. In addition to the wheels at each corner we have 2 reserves. Good rims and tyres don't come cheap. We were able to buy the rims for a very sharp price from Hendrik Swane in Zijderveld. The rims are of the type modular in the size 7 x 16 inch. (original Laro 5.5 x 16). The colour is black. (Looks good!!)

Buying 6 new tyre isn't something we do every day and a lot of thought went into making the choice. I new that BF Goodridge All Terrain tyres are excellent allrounders. Thanks to advice from a couple of Paris-Dakar veterans I chose the size 235/85 R16. We bought the tyres from De Vries Banden in Zutphen. I brought them the rims and I could come along with Bogie any time that fitted me and they would mount the wheels. De Vries Banden give great service and the tyres were by far the cheapest.
